A year ago, the YouTube algorithm blessed me with the "Riffle, Shuffle & Roll" video about Scoundrel, the card game originally made by Zack Gage and Kurt Bieg. The simple yet challenging game using just a deck of cards instantly got me hooked. Fast forward a few months, and "Game Maker's Toolkit" convinced me to try out making games in Unity. I did once try to program some games in Python, but Unity provided me with so much more freedom! After a couple of fooling-around projects, I wanted to make a complete, handmade game. I remembered Scoundrel, and the result is presented here.
This version provides the 'vanilla' game of Scoundrel with the rules from Zack Gage and Kurt Bieg. I have tried to emulate a dungeon setting to hopefully give a more immersive experience. In the future (probably like at least half a year), I want to improve the card models to include actual monsters, weapons and potions. Furthermore, the game's win screen needs improvement, as it is at the moment underwhelming. Feel free to make suggestions, I'll add them to my list!
Hope you enjoy!
